The Gables is conveniently situated close to shops, harbour and local amenities. It is an 18th century privately owned house divided into two flats, with the proprietors living on the ground floor. The holiday apartment is on the first floor and has its own separate entrance. There is off-road parking for one vehicle. Please note there is no sea view.

The accommodation comprises balcony, lobby, dining area, kitchen, lounge, shower room with WC and wash basin. There are two bedrooms - the master bedroom has a double bed (a single, folding bed is also available if required), and the second bedroom has a smaller, 4' wide double bed.

Facilities include electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, satellite TV, video, electric halogen heater and fan heaters. Electricity is by coin operated meter; however in the event of cold weather central heating is provided free of charge.

Porthleven

The village has a picturesque harbour and a long sandy beach. There are stunning cliff walks and one mile east is Loe Bar where a freshwater lake, or loe in Cornish, is separated from the sea by a wide sandbar. The beautiful loe is wooded on three sides and one can walk through the woods and around the water, or take the shorter route to Helston, Porthleven's nearest town, and catch the bus back.

There is a choice of pubs in Porthleven, together with cafes, restaurants, shops and craft workshops. There are 2 fish and chip shops, a Chinese restaurant/takeaway and, our favourite, a delicatessen which does delicious wood-fired pizzas to order. Porthleven also has a Post Office, self service launderette and a supermarket.
