The Barn at The Old Stables, Coldrenick is set in the heart
of idyllic Cornish countryside and makes an ideal retreat for a
peaceful getaway. The barn is self-contained giving you independence
and privacy. It was built around 1840 and has been sympathetically converted
and modernised to provide a superb holiday base. Built in the former farmyard,
The Barn is approached via a well surfaced farm lane, and provides a
beautifully tranquil setting.
It is ideally placed for touring the whole of Cornwall
and within easy access of both coasts. It lies within one mile of the
Camel Trail where you can walk or cycle along this beautiful riverside
path in complete peace.
A feeling of spaciousness and light will greet you
as you enter The Barn. The contemporary unit comprises a large double
bedroom with adjoining fully fitted bathroom. The interior has been professionally
designed with handmade furniture. You will receive a very warm welcome
and be well looked after during your visit, where quality of service and
guests' well-being are key. The king size bed is luxuriously fitted with
quality 'sink in' duvet and pillows. A mini bar is available whilst tea
and coffee making facilities are naturally on offer. The bathroom is fitted
with luxurious towels and the beautifully tiled floor and walls
give a quality feel. A deep bath is ideal for total relaxation. Great
emphasis has been put on lighting throughout to create a soothing
atmosphere and in the bathroom mood lights shadow from the walls to further
enhance.
Breakfast is served in the dining room of our house which
is situated opposite the Barn. The room is light and well finished, with
fantastic, uninterupted views of the garden and beyond. You may choose
from a wholesome Aga cooked English breakfast or a lighter, continental
style breakfast with croissants, yoghurt and a selection of fresh and
dried fruits. There is a choice of cereals and juice. Preserves are always
home-made.
Guests are welcome to explore and use the beautiful large
gardens opposite The Barn where you may sit and indulge in a home-made
Cornish cream tea. Or if you wish to spend a quiet evening in we shall
be pleased to serve a meal for you in the dining room.
The local towns of Bodmin and Wadebridge are only a short
drive, whilst the A30 spine road of Cornwall is just two miles away. From
here you can explore the true beauty of the county including its glorious
beaches and coves and well-known centres such as Eden, Gardens
of Heligan, Tate Modern at St Ives and Maritime Museum
at Falmouth. The Camel estuary resorts of Padstow and Rock
are also easily accessible.
