FALMOUTH
Starfish Cottage is located two miles south of the Cornish
port of Falmouth - the name 'Falmouth' comes from the fact that the town
stands at the mouth of the River Fal Estuary.
Today Falmouth is a thriving town and has the 3rd largest
natural deep-water harbour in the world, with the Fal Estuary offering
12 miles of navigable water and one of it's many tributaries reaching
the cathedral city of Truro.
Falmouth provides a picturesque background, a focal point
for many water sports and the perfect location for the new National Maritime
Museum Cornwall. Many of the harbour side shops, cafes and restaurants
have unsurpassed views across the water to Flushing, Falmouth Bay and
beyond.
