St Anthony-in-Meneage is one of the most attractive hamlets
on the Cornish coast. Facing south, it nestles in a suntrap on the shores
of Gillan Creek, where the Helford River opens into Falmouth Bay.
During summer, there is the constant to-and-fro of boats
from the moorings and pontoon. Sailing, motor and rowing boats are available
for hire. We also teach sailing and provide moorings and launching for
those bringing their own boats.
The beach and creek make a fascinating children's playground
with rock pools, shrimping, paddling and swimming.
Throughout Autumn, Winter and Spring, the peace and tranquillity
is shared with egrets, herons, occasional kingfishers and waders.
There are many places of interest to visit, including the
National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, The Tate Gallery in St Ives, The
Lost Gardens of Heligan; The National Seal Sanctuary in Gweek and of course
the numerous beaches and coves along the varied Cornish coastline. The
Eden Project is also only 1½ hrs from St Anthony.
