Self Catering Holiday Cottage St Ives
Lands End
Ideal for up to 4 people
Situated within an area of outstanding natural beauty,
this recently converted detached traditional Cornish granite barn, set
within a walled and gated farmhouse garden, is ideal for up to 4 people
and can be made up as twin or double bedrooms.
Located within 3 miles of St. Ives and ideally placed for
exploring the West Penwith coastal paths that cover this peninsula and
eventually lead you to Land's End, we are on the edge of moorland, close
to both the North and South coast of Cornwall. Local places of interest
include The Tate Gallery and a whole host of other small galleries in
St. Ives, a variety of restaurants, quaint streets and local craft shops
in the town, and beautiful beaches - ideal for both surfers and sunbathers
- the Minnack Theatre at Porthcurno, St. Michael's mount opposite Marazion
beach and popular National Trust Gardens at Trengwainton and Trelissick.
For those who like to go further afield, it's a simple matter to take
the ship or helicopter from nearby Penzance to the Isles of Scilly for
a day trip.
The Accommodation
The reverse level Barn sleeps up to 4 people in two double/
twin bedrooms, each with an en-suite toilet and shower on the ground floor
(You tell us how you want the beds made up and they will be ready when
you arrive.)
Stairs lead up to the light, airy living area , comprising
a sitting room with feature multi- fuel burning stove, large picture window
giving uninterrupted views over unspoilt moorland, Velux roof windows
giving additional light and ventilation, and a 'walk through' to a separate
neat kitchen/ dining room. This has a gas hob, electric oven, 'fridge,
microwave, automatic washing machine and all the cooking utensils, crockery,
glassware and cutlery you need.
The kitchen/ dining room has glass double doors out onto
a small wooden balcony, overlooking the garden and the moorland, in addition
to a side window overlooking the moors and Velux windows in the roof.
We provide all the bedding, bed linen and towels for the
Barn, and this is included in the price, but you will need to bring your
own beach towels.
For chilly evenings in spring and autumn, and visitors
taking winter breaks, the Barn is kept cosy with oil fired central heating.
We also have TV, video, radio and a selection of books to keep you entertained
indoors.
Outside
Off road parking is available within the walled and gated
grounds on the gravelled drive. The sunny garden on 3 sides of the Barn
is on two levels, with original dry stone walls and cobbled paths, raised
beds, lawns with space for sitting and drying washing and a small courtyard.
Garden furniture is available for visitors use.
We have 2 adult mountain bikes available to borrow at no
extra charge.
