By
Car:
Follow the signs from Helston to Porthleven. You drive past
the boating lake on your right, up the hill, down through
the trees and then at a sharp right hand bend you go straight
on (signpost Loe Bar) then take the 2nd turning on the right
which is Peverell Terrace. We are then 200 yards on the right.
By
Bus:
When travelling from Helston or Penzance, get off the bus
at the Harbour Head. Walking along the road at the left-hand
side of the harbour, turn left up Salt Cellar Hill, Turn right
at the top and Seefar is 200 yards on your left. The National
Express coach also comes into the village daily.
Walking from Penzance:
When you walk into the village, you will see the 70 ft. high
clock tower and we are situated on the terrace above it. Walk
round the harbour turning right up Salt Cellar Hill, turn
right again at the top and we are then 200 yards on the left.
Walking from the Lizard:
Walk into the village keeping the sea on your left all the
time, until you come to houses on both sides of the road.
Take the footpath on the right and at the top, go over the
road, up the hill to the house, about 40 yards.
By
Train:
Get off the train at Redruth where you should find a connecting
Truronian bus. Catch the bus to Helston, where if you let
us know the time you will arrive, we will meet you in the
car to save you catching a further bus and having to walk
up a steep hill with your luggage.

Mount's
Bay
The coastal area between Lands End and the Lizard
offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country. On
a clear day, the Lizard and Lands End can both be seen from our
windows and in rougher weather, the views are just as impressive
with the Cornish sea pounding below.
Porthleven
Is a small, unspoilt fishing village near the ancient
town of Helston, which has inner and outer harbours sheltered by
a granite breakwater. The fishermen's cottages built, of either
granite or plastered brick, nestle together in quiet harmony with
the occasional brilliantly coloured wall standing out in contrast,
making it resemble some Mediterranean villages. Extending south
from the harbour is an extensive beach leading on to the famous
Loe Bar, which separates the beach from Loe Pool, Cornwall's largest
inland freshwater lake.
The Loe Pool - owned by The National Trust,
has extensive wooded walks along it's banks, with some of the finest
scenery imaginable and is open to the public each day from dawn
to dusk.
The village has small craft shops, an excellent selection
of friendly pubs and restaurants, with some specialising in fish.
It also has it's own Doctors surgery and chemist together with a
supermarket and post office.
The harbour is a resting place for fishing and pleasure
boats alike and where you can take pleasure trips along the coast
or to catch fish for your Bar B Que. In the summer the Town Band
plays on the harbour side every Sunday evening and various events
take place on the Harbour Head, the biggest being Lifeboat Day and
Gig Day.
Seefar in Porthleven is also an ideal resting place
when walking the Coastal Path which comes into the village, winding
it's way from Penzance or the Lizard. It is also the perfect place
to tour West Cornwall and the Lizard area.
