The 'Downalong' is a collection of Characterful traditional fisherman's cottages - many now converted to holiday lets - situated at the very heart of the old Fishermans quarter. The access to this section of St Ives is via a quiet 'cobbled' No Through Road called The Digey. The sea, The Tate Gallery, Porthmeor Beach and Bamaluz beach -( a small cove with year round, unrestricted access for dog walkers and a golden, sandy beach at low tide) are just a short walk though the narrow streets. The Downalong has some of the towns oldest buildings and is ideally located to enjoy the many shops, art galleries, and restaurants - all within a stones throw of the harbour and with the sandy, surfing beaches, just around the corner.
