Come to Cornwall and stay with us!

We are open all year, and South East Cornwall is a beautiful place to visit in any season, whether walking up on the moors, or discovering a quiet secluded cove down on the coast where smugglers haunt! Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter - February and October are lovely here! There are many pubs and restaurants nearby that we can recommend for your evening meal, and many other places to eat that we can suggest for you, while you are out and about.

Enjoy a holiday with us at Redgate Smithy B&B, or just stop for a night or two...

Redgate Smithy is in the heart of South East Cornwall, on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, near the village of St.Cleer and three miles north west of Liskeard. We are situated in a country lane just above the beautiful wooded Golitha Falls on the River Fowey.

Walking and other Local Attractions

Golitha Falls, Siblyback Lake, Bodmin Moor and the coast of SE Cornwall are wonderful for Walking and Birdwatching - from short walks to long walks and the new Copper Trail around the whole of Bodmin Moor! There are extensive Cornish Mining World Heritage sites just up the road at Minions, the curious Cheesewring, and the many ancient neolithic settlements and stone circles in the area, including the Hurlers and Stowe's Pound. Together with the beauty of Bodmin Moor, there is the Eden Project within half an hour's drive, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and the house and gardens at Lanhydrock. The lively harbours of Fowey, Polruan, Polperro and Looe are within easy reach, and the North Coast around Padstow and Port Isaac is only around 45 minutes away.

Built around 200 years ago, Redgate Smithy is now a friendly and welcoming Bed and Breakfast.

ACCOMMODATION

We have a lovely woodland garden that guests are welcome to use, a patio and other seating areas, a large conservatory and comfortable beamed, well equipped cottage style bedrooms.

We aim to provide a relaxing atmosphere for our guests, with all guests' rooms separated upstairs away from our own, each with their own colour TV and tea & coffee making facilities.

Good home-cooked breakfasts, using local produce, are prepared on the range and served in the light and airy conservatory overlooking the garden.
