There has been a farm or dwelling, at Pennance
Vean for over 400 years, tucked down in a fold to shelter it from the
elements, yet enjoying stunning views down to St Ives Bay and Godrevy
Lighthouse (inspiration for Virginia Woolf’s novel “To the Lighthouse”.)
This little corner of Cornwall has golden sands that stretch for three
sweeping miles, spectacular world-class surf and unique sand dunes that
form a continuous nature reserve. Today, Pennance Vean continues as a
working farm situated on 20 acres, with a farmhouse and single holiday
let converted from a granite barn and providing accommodation for up to
six guests.

Pennance Vean Farm is the perfect location to relax, explore, walk, watch
the seals at Godrevy or just look and listen to the skylarks in summer,
migrating birds in spring or the sound of the ocean breaking on the rocks
in winter. And then there are the spectacular sunsets and clear light
that has drawn artists to Cornwall for years.

The living room, dining area and kitchen with its beamed ceiling and exposed
timbers together with the original warm stone walls and slate floor form
a cosy yet relaxing place to read, eat and cook – or just chill out. The
living room is equipped with a television with Freeview and DVD and CD
players The fully fitted kitchen with granite worktop, ceramic hob, stainless
steel oven, dishwasher and full-size fridge/ freezer is aimed to make
cooking easy and fun if you plan a gourmet week – but if that’s not your
plan, the microwave is to hand! Each bedroom is colour themed – blue for
the sea, gold for gorse and grey for granite.
The blue room has a 5 ft traditional iron bed on modern beechwood springing
and warm antique furniture. The gold room has a 5 ft wooden Breton bed
(Brittany is a kindred Celtic region to Cornwall) and the grey room is
the snug or office with a desk and an iron day bed that easily converts
into twin beds – ideal for snoozing between emails!
All bedrooms have wool fitted carpets for warmth and comfort. The two
modern tiled bathrooms which are ensuite to the bedrooms are sumptuously
fitted out for a relaxing “soak” after a strenuous day’s walking, surfing,
or exploring on the beach. One has a full-length bath and shower while
the other is a shower wet-room with a wonderful pebble floor.
When’s the best time to visit? The answer
is simple - whenever you like. We are open all year and Pennance Vean
Farm is fully centrally heated with easy to use controls that you can
adjust to your own preference. Unlike some accommodation that is really
only designed for summer holidays, you’ll always feel snug and warm here.
