EAST CORNWALL - LOOE & POLPERRO |
||||||
Our central location offers easy access to the safe, family beaches of Looe, the quaint fishing village of Polperro and the breathtaking scenery of Whitsand Bay and Rame Head. The Eden Project is just a short drive away, as are the 'Lost gardens of Heligan' and the National trust Properties of Lanhydrock House and Cotehele - both famous for their beautiful gardens. On the Rame Headland, you will discover the charm of Mount Edgecumbe Country Park, nestled against the river Tamar, providing panoramic views of Plymouth, Drake's Island and Plymouth Sound. Cornwall offers a host of attractions for the young and the not so young. The famous coaching Inn made famous by Daphne du Maurier's 'Jamaica Inn' . The Napoleonic, Bodmin Gaol is also just a short distance away, where you can experience the 'horrors' of life as a prisoner in the 1800s. Siblyback Lake is just two miles away, across the moor, providing watersports (dingy sailing and windsurfing) and fishing; there is a pleasant stroll around the edge of the lake. Newquay and the famous Fistral Surfing beach is a welcome diversion for young surf boarders. This is Cornwall's mecca for the young, a lively town with the added attraction of a zoo and aquarium and the 'Tunnels through Time' - that everyone loves. Further west you will find the holiday resorts of St. Ives, Penzance and St Michael's Mount and Falmouth (home of The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and famous for the Tudor Castle at Pendennis and its vibrant harbour) as well as attractions such as the Flambards Theme Park, Poldark Mine and The Land's End Experience. Cornwall has so much to offer - why not come down and see for yourselves
