Sandcastles
or Rock Pools?
Whatever age your children are (or you!), you won’t
find Trevone Beach wanting.
A few minutes walk from the house finds the beautiful
bay with a sandy, sheltered beach suitable for sunbathing or surfing,
while on the other side of the headland, the coastline continues on to
a massive rocky outcrop, which provides hours of fun for rock pooling
and ‘exploring’. There is also a semi-natural pool, which re-fills with
fresh sea-water at high tide each day.
Surfers can enjoy good waves from low to mid tide
in the bay (watch out for the powerful rip on the right side of the beach!).
Surf boards and accessories can be bought or rented at the Surf Shop which
is open seven days a week.
Just above the sandy beach is a giant 80-foot blow-hole
- a great tourist attraction.
Life Guards patrol the beach from May until September
(during working hours).
The beach is cleaned every morning (and is dog-free
during the summer months).

A Plan for All Seasons
The mild weather in Autumn and the stunning views
in this area makes Trevone suitable for visiting off season.
The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan
are situated within easy driving distance, and open all year round.
For a change of scenery, within easy reach of Trevone
bay, lie the sandy beaches of Harlyn, Constantine, Treyarnon, Damar Bay,
Rock, and Polzeath.
If you are feeling more energetic, Trevose Golf Course
is only a few minutes drive from the village, and for the cycling enthusiasts,
the Camel Trail - a fifteen mile track running from Padstow, through Wadebridge
and Bodmin, on to Poley’s Bridge, gives a lovely day out with excellent
pub-stops to keep you sustained.

Rick's 'Plaice' or Mine?
Eating in at Parc Vean is no problem with the village
shop situated only a short walk from the house and a small version of
a 'super-store' a five minute drive away. There is also a convenience
store in St. Merryn.
| The small hotel in Trevone serves lunches and
evening meals. |
There are also many very good and varied
restaurants in Padstow, which is a working fishing harbour. |
| For a special occasion, Rick Stein’s famous fish
restaurant is also only a few minutes drive away in Padstow, as are
his Fish and Chip Shop and Patisserie. |
"15" Jamie Oliver's restaurant, where
he promises to use only local produce, is about 20 minutes drive away
in Watergate Bay, and overlooks a large surfing beach |

Trevone
Trevone is a small, popular village just three
miles from Padstow. It has a thriving shop and post office (well at the
moment!), a farm shop, Church, and a car park. The beach has a café, shops
and toilets (with disabled access).
North-east of Trevone beach, the rugged cliffs
provide a lovely opportunity for walking and offer beautiful views over
Hawkers Cove and the distant Camel estuary.
