Falmouth Town Shuttle Bus
|
|||
With superb foresight, Falmouth Town Council have researched and commissioned a new Minibus service for vistiors and residents alike to use and enjoy. The Falmouth Town Shuttle Bus links the Car Parks and Falmouth’s Town Station on the eastern edge of the town with the main streets and attractions. Operating from Monday to Saturday the Minibus runs every 20 minutres linking the Quarry Car Park (entrance) with The Moor (for Town Hall, Library, Art Gallery and Piazza with Packet Memorial). From the Moor, it runs via the Prince of Wales Pier (for St. Nazaire memorial and Ferry services to Flushing and St. Mawes) and then through the main street, (a Traffic Order prohibits through traffic and a rising Bollard helps prevent unauthorised traffic – the Bollard is a lovely tourist wonder in it’s own right !) stopping at The Grapes Inn (for Gasworks Car Park) and Church Corner for King Charles Parish Church before travelling to Grove Place for The National Maritime Museum. We then travel to the Dell Car Park which is co-sited with Falmouth Town BR Station (linking with incoming Trains at 12 minutes past the hour). Next, the service travels via Grovehill and Woodlane and stops near the University College, Falmouth Campus entrance. Continuing via stops on Albany Road and Killigrew Street the last stop is outside Argos (for Argos, Iceland and National Express and visiting Tour Coaches) at Berkeley Vale, before returning up Quarry Hill to The Quarry Car Park (entrance). Concession Card Holders travel free, and the good news is that the fare is £1 - a flat rate with “Hop On ~ Hop Off” as often as you like - so visitors can ride around the whole route before deciding where to explore on foot, and locals can pop down to the shops from home or convenient out of town parking spots. Helping to reduce traffic through Falmouth’s sensitive main street, providing a friendly and helpful service for passengers from near and far - all in a day’s work for the team running the Falmouth Town Shuttle Bus. We will be pleased to receive your comments or suggestions either on-board or via the Falmouth Town Manager. |
