thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cottage".
The Old Cottage is a 17th century Grade II listed building, brimming
with character features, including exposed beams, Cornish slate
floors, a range cooker and a wood burner.
The property was originally built as three separate
"one-up, one-down" stone and slate craftsmen's cottages, and, until
recent restoration, had been abandoned for over fifty years.
This sleeping beauty was lovingly brought back
to life, using authentic techniques and traditional materials.
The completed restoration is a stunning success,
retaining all the historic character of the original building, whilst
adding modern comforts such as central heating, power showers and
a dishwasher. The result is a charming, warm, comfortable, home-away-from-home
that will appeal to families, couples, and groups of friends alike.
All downstairs rooms have Cornish slate floors.
Upstairs rooms are fully carpeted. There is oil-fired central heating
throughout.

garden, with a paved area for drinks/dining and barbecues. Outdoor

- In front of the cottage there is a Cornish hedge, concealing
a small seated area with garden bench and a car "pull-in" space.
- Around the corner there is also a separate garage for the cottage's
exclusive use, with additional off-road space for one more car.
Whatever your preference - relaxing on the beach,
surfing, cycling the Camel Trail or wandering around the unspoilt
fishing villages and historic churches you will find an abundance
of choice to appeal to all age groups.
Cornwall has retained all the charm of the past
with its inspiring landscape of moorland, rugged cliffs with hidden
coves and picture box villages nestling in the valleys.
The availability of fresh natural ingredients has
made Cornwall an excellent place to find good food. Ranging from
the wholesome Cornish pasty (delicious eaten by the sea) to delightful
pub fare to Rick Stein's famous Seafood Restaurant at Padstow nearby
you will not go hungry!
Wadebridge lies at the heart of the Camel Trail,
a level, safe off-road walking and cycling route running along the
course of the former Bodmin to Padstow railway.
The Camel Trail is 17 miles long and a popular
free attraction with parking and access from several points.
Bike hire is available from Wadebridge.
