WHEN YOU arrive at Nanplough, just pull up past the two granite pillars at the end of the drive, switch off your engine and wind down your window. Now...
listen to that... If you wanted to get away from it all, don't worry, you have. At the heart of the Lizard Peninsula You see, you're in a unique world, 24 peaceful acres of it to be precise, near the western edge of the wild and beautiful Lizard Peninsula. Our valley stream flows down to the excellent beach at Poldhu, a good starting point on the spectacular and exhilarating coast path. Within easy exploring distance you'll find breathtaking Kynance Cove, the harbours of Mullion and Coverack, the beautiful Helford River and the drama of Lizard Point. The famous maritime and shopping centres of Falmouth, Penzance and Truro are just half an hour's drive away. The fabulous Eden Project, Cornwall's brightest attraction is just fifty minutes drive away. Nanplough Farm - a holiday for all seasons In springtime the cliff paths are quiet, sea-pinks and gorse blaze with colour and nearby Helston pipes in the summer with the world-famous floral dance. Come autumn, our squirrels are busier, there are log fires in the village inns and the beaches are deserted save for you and the oystercatchers.

DAYS OF DISCOVERYONE OF the beauties of Nanplough is that we're perfectly placed for touring. So you can fill each day with new activities, or there again, you might want to simply drop anchor here and relax ... Around the grounds Set yourself up for the day with a pre-breakfast stroll (or a dip in the pool!) and you might meet a few of our long-term residents: squirrels, foxes and badgers. Activities for all the family. After breakfast you'll be heading for the coast path or the beach ? At nearby Poldhu or Dollar Cove, where 2 tonnes of dollars were lost in a shipwreck in 1785 and never found. And there are fishing trips, riding, good surf and golf all close by. Children will love the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, and Flambards, the largest theme park in Cornwall. That's if you can drag them away from our own play area and swimming pool! When the sun sets, it's time to reflect At the end of your day, take a bottle of wine and relax by the pool. This is the time to reflect on the day's activities and pick up some ideas for the morrow... St. Michael's Mount, The Eden project, Land's End, St. Ives, fresh crab sandwiches at Cadgwith Cove. |
