Falmouth Bay is a haven for all water sport
enthusiasts. As keen divers, sailors and bikers themselves, Ken &
Sally are happy to provide those little extra facilities such as space
for washing and drying gear and safe parking for motorbikes.
Less than a minutes walk from Falmouth sea
front, five minutes walk from the historic town and its world famous Maritime
Museum and just yards from the Princess Pavilion with its theatre
and gardens, whether you are on holiday, working in the area, touring
or on business, Mermaid Lodge is the perfect base for your stay in Falmouth.

Take a short walk to Pendennis headland. Dominating
the entrance to the river Fal, Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII,
was the last Royalist stronghold to fall to Cromwell's troops. Below the
castle is the Coastguard Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre which co-ordinates
search and rescue operations locally and worldwide. The views from Pendennis
are phenomenal; to the left you see the entrance to the river looking
across to St. Mawes with its sister castle. To the right you look
towards the Lizard and the notorious Manacles, where countless ships have
foundered through the ages. The scuba diving here is world class.
Falmouth Bay is the third largest natural
harbour in the world, offering a safe haven for shipping and home to varied
species of wildlife, including Dolphins Seals and Basking Shark. Take
a boat trip to explore the beautiful Helford or Fal and you will see Egrets
and many other birds.
Cornwall has its own special unique and diverse
magic. From Falmouth you can easily visit Lands End, The Eden Project,
Seal Sanctuary, Goonhilly Earth Station and Minack Theatre, the semi
tropical gardens at Trebah, Gendurgan and Heligan and explore
for your self the miles of coastline with family beaches and secluded
coves.
