The apartments at Melvill Court, which are in a
garden setting, are approached through double gates. They were
completed in 2002 to a high standard. Our apartment is on
the top floor, hence you have good sea views.
We are in an enviable position just a relaxed 15
minute walk to the new National Maritime Museum Cornwall
and the harbour and shops of Falmouth. Ten minutes walk in the
other direction takes you to the Gyllyngavase beach, public
tennis courts and coastal footpath. Cornwall is famous for
its many gardens and Falmouth is a good base to explore these.
About the apartment
Within the grounds we have our own private car parking
space. There's a lift and then stairs up to the apartment. The living
space is open and airy with an arched panoramic window and glass
door, this leads to a sheltered balcony on which there is a table
and chairs so you can enjoy the sea view. Naturally there's a T.V.,
video, radio CD.
The kitchen is fully fitted and includes double oven,
gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
The kitchen, lounge and dinning area are all open plan.
To the rear through the inner hallway there are two
bedrooms, one double (king size bed) and one twin. The double bedroom
has an ensuite with large shower, hand basin and W.C. There is also
a bathroom with bath, hand basin and W.C. off the hallway.
The apartment has full gas central heating which also
supplies the hot water. Gas, electricity and full bedding included
in the price. Towels are not included.
Falmouth
Renowned features a magnificent harbour and much of
the towns activity is focussed around its scenic waters, quaint
narrow streets and quays which hosts a variety of shops, restaurants
and pubs. It is a great place to shop, with lots of art and gift
shops. The Art centre hosts events from theatre to film and exhibits
work from many local artists.
The award winning National Maritime Museum on the
quayside, is a must for all. A stroll around Pendennis Head will
unfold panoramic views across the waterways as far as the eye can
see;sandy beaches, an indoor swimming complex and Pendennis Castle
are all close by.
From Falmouth quays, small ferries run sightseeing
trips to Flushing, St. Mawes, the Helford river and Daphne du Maurier's
'Frenchman's Creek' and up the river Fal to the cathedral
city of Truro.
