Filming at Holywell Bay
Holywell Bay - incidentally, was featured in the latest acclaimed film ‘Summer in February’ staring amongst others Dan Stevens, who played Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey. A lot of this melodrama took place on Holywell. As to the setting of the Cornish Author Rosamunde Pilcher famous romantic Stories and a lot of her well know Novels have been filmed at Holywell Bay. Also another film to use our local beach as a location was the James Bond movie ‘Die Another Day’. But if it’s local watering holes and restaurants you’re interested in there’s St Pirans at the entrance to the dunes leading to the beach and the Treguth Inn just a short walk up the hill, with Smugglers Den in the hamlet of Trbellen not far from Cubert, all well worth a visit.
