Martlett and Hirondelle are two individual open plan studio apartments developed from a single storey barn conversion. Each apartment sleeps 2 people.

ACCOMMODATION

The apartments have been carefully renovated, decorated and furnished to a high standard with cream leather sofas, twin or super king size beds as required, double shower cubicles and well equipped solid oak kitchens.

They have outstanding rural views overlooking the town and Loe Bar and we are very accessible to local shops, pubs and restaurants. Our fantastic location allows you to enjoy the surrounding area on foot with a ten minute walk into Helston or by stepping across the road to the River Cober and Loe Bar. We are also situated in ideal walking country with attractive coves, gardens and walks to explore along with many other attractions and activities.

LOCATION

Weeth is enviably situated just outside the ancient market town of Helston within the Cober Valley.

In early times Helston was a thriving port at the head of the Cober estuary but from the 13th century onwards the estuary began to silt up and a great shingle bank "The Loe Bar" was formed at the mouth of the estuary cutting the River Cober off from the sea making it the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall. The estates around this lake are part owned by the National Trust and offer 5 miles of delightful walks around the shores or on the beach.

Helston was one of the ancient coinage towns where tin ingots were taken to be weighted to assess the duty payable to the Duke of Cornwall. The main street runs down a fairly steep hill where the famous 'Furry or Flora Dance' is performed on the 8th May each year. Helston has not changed over the years but it still manages to have all the facilities of a modern town with shops, pubs, restaurants, a sports centre and boating lake.

The ever popular Flambards Village Theme Park is just on the outskirts of the town along with the Royal Naval Air Station at Culdrose. There are also many other attractions on offer such as the coastal footpath, walking and swimming at the various beaches nearby or visiting the Helford, probably one of the most unspoilt rivers in Cornwall.

Cornwall's mild climate helped by the Gulf Stream and the warming effect of the sea makes it possible to grow many subtropical plants which would not survive elsewhere in the British Isles. There are two gardens situated a few miles from Helston on the North shore of the Helford River - Trebah and Glendurgan, both of which have many rare and exotic trees and are well worth a visit.

On leaving Weeth if you take the road to your right for about 3 miles this will lead you to Porthleven which is a charming unspoiled fishing village. There is nothing nicer than to sit outside one of the Harbour Inns on a lovely sunny day having a drink.
