The town was once a busy trading port which following its decline has become an internationally renowned habitat for wading birds - featuring on many TV documentaries. From Autumn to spring, the area is an ideal location for bird-watching.

A few miles to the west, you can explore the beauty of St. Ives, with its narrow streets and picturesque beaches. St. Ives has a Mediterranean feel, a 'must see' destination for all visitors to Cornwall.
