Local Area - Hayle, Land's End & St. Ives
Hayle is the ideal location for touring Penwith
and the Land's End Peninsula. Hayle is famous for its three
miles of golden beaches, lovely coastal walks and the
estuary. The town was once a busy trading port which following
its decline has become an internationally renowned habitat
for wading birds - featuring on many TV documentaries. From
Autumn to spring, the area is an ideal location for bird-watching.
A few miles to the west, you can explore the
beauty of St. Ives, with its narrow streets and picturesque
beaches. St. Ives has a Mediterranean feel, a 'must see' destination
for all visitors to Cornwall.
Within a 40 minutes of Hayle, you will find
many of Cornwall's best attractions; the awe inspiring beauty
of Porthcurno and The Minack Theatre, the beautiful Lizard
Peninsula; the equally rugged and picturesque Land's End and
of course Truro, Penzance and Falmouth with the New National
Maritime Museum.
Further a field, you can explore the delights
of the Eden Project, (just a 45 min drive from Hayle) one
of England's top five visitor attractions.
