Self catering Cottage
in Sennen - Lands End
Sleeping 2 + 2
people
You are offered a rural location, almost a mile from the
main road, half a mile from neighbours (apart from us), starry nights
with no light pollution and a tranquil setting full of wildlife.
We have a rural Grade II listed 17th
Century former farmhouse, which originally had its own hamlet within
its curtilage. We have recently renovated one of the barns to produce
a heated detached cottage with one double bedroom.
Rissick is located ¾ mile off the A30 at Crows-an-Wra
(Cornish for 'Cross of the Witch'). This is the main road from Penzance
(6 miles) to Lands End (4 miles) and 2 ½ miles from the wonderful
surfing beaches at Sennen Cove shown on the next page.
This is an area of outstanding beauty
and because it's a peninsula, you are never far
from the sea.
The coastline has some of the most
stunning and dramatic in Britain.
Inland, especially in West Penwith, there is a wild untamed
beauty, characterised by outcrops of granite, moorland, ancient stones,
Bronze Age villages, Neolithic field systems and deserted tin mines. The
National Trust owns large parts of the region, including Chapel Carn Brae,
only a mile away, the first hill in Britain.
By car the approximate distances are:
Penzance 10 minutes
Sennen Cove 5 minutes
St Ives 25 minutes
Mousehole and Newlyn 10 minutes
Land's End 10 minutes
Truro 40 minutes
Eden Project 1 hour
Newquay 1 hour
