Holiday cottages to let in South East Cornwall
LODGE
BARTON is a smallholding set in a peaceful valley edged by woodland, near
St Keyne, Cornwall, yet it is just two minutes drive into the delightful
market town of Liskeard.
The cottages have recently been converted from stone barns.
They have exposed beams, whitewashed stone walls and high ceilings. There
is a woodburner in each cottage, easy to work and cosy in the evenings.
Owl Cottage (sleeps 5), has oak floors and Kettle Cottage
(sleeps 2+2), has tiled floors, covered with lots of pretty rugs. The
feeling created is light, luxurious and relaxed.
The valley is flanked by woodland and the fields edged
by the Looe River. Lodge Barton is set back, and hidden along a quiet
country lane leading to our smallholding. Guests are welcome to explore
the farm, fields, orchard and woodlands, or just relax and enjoy the countryside.
The cottages are within easy reach of Looe, the pretty
bustling fishing village with its popular beach. We are just 1 mile from
the nearest shop and 6 miles from the nearest beach. There are many other
beaches, National Trust beauty spots, and opportunities for recreation
in the neighbourhood, for example:
- Coves and Beaches: at Lantivet and Lantic
Bays; Lansallos, with its smugglers' church hanging over the rocky coves
and beaches below.
- Historic sites: the ancient stone circles
at Minions on Bodmin Moor; National Trust properties nearby include
medieval Cotehele, and Lanhydrock with its Edwardian Country house grandeur.
- Walks: go walking through hedgerow tunnels
and cornfields to the beaches at Lantivet and Lantic Bays, or pony trekking
on wild and beautiful Bodmin Moor.
- Rivers and Lakes: visit Golitha Falls,
where the Fowey River runs through beech woods, with waterfalls, and
trout and salmon; or enjoy the sailing, windsurfing and fishing at Siblyback
Lake. Railway: Take a ride on the delightful single-track Liskeard/Looe
railway, which winds along the leafy river valley to the sea at Looe.
- Leisure Facilities: Liskeard has a leisure
centre and swimming pool with excellent facilities.
- The Eden Project with its now world famous
tropical biome is just over ½ hour away.
Arrival time is after 6pm on Friday, and
we ask you to vacate the cottage
by mid-day on the Friday when you leave.

It has whitewashed stone walls, and high ceilings with exposed beams.
There are oak floors with pretty rugs, and a woodburning stove.

It has 2 bedrooms, and 2 reception rooms, and a fully equipped kitchen
