Little Australia Farm is a secluded refurbished farmhouse
Bed and Breakfast, situated in a wooded valley, at the head of the
Helford River, approximately one mile from the village of Gweek
and four miles from the market Town of Helston.
The Lizard Peninsula, Lands End, Penzance, St Ives,
Newquay, Falmouth and Truro are all within easy reach of Gweek,
making Little Australia an ideal base to explore the Southwest of
Cornwall and all it's attractions, i.e.: beautiful private and National
Trust gardens, beaches, cliff walks, riding, golf, fishing and diving.
ACCOMMODATION
Beautifully appointed Bed and Breakfast accommodation,
four diamond rated, having two twin and one double room, all ensuite
and fully central heated with a colour TV, hairdryer and tea and
coffee making facilities.
After a busy day, relax in the conservatory and watch
the abundant bird life. A Full English or continental breakfast
with our own free-range eggs and home-made preserves is served in
the conservatory. Vegetarians and special diets are also catered
for.
The nearby Village of Gweek has a fine pub serving
good food and ales, a tea-garden, shop and post office, and is the
home of the famous National Seal Sanctuary. There are also many
fine restaurants in the area.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Minack Theatre
Slightly further is the unique Minack Theatre, an open air theatre
carved into the cliffs at Porthcurno. Everything from Shakespeare
to popular musicals are performed under the stars with the majestic
backdrop of the sea.
Eden Project
You can't list attractions in Cornwall without mentioning the Eden
Project. It's biomes containing microclimates supporting life from
all over the world attracts world-wide attention. At the bottom
of a claypit in Cornwall you can experience the rainforest or the
Mediterranean! It also contains lots of educational displays about
our planet and life on it.
St Michael's Mount
The famous St Michael's Mount and village of Marazion are just 12
miles from Gweek. The mount is shrouded in local legend: when the
tide is out you can walk over on the "Giant's Causeway".
Perched on the top of the mount surrounded with beautiful gardens
is a Medieval Castle.
National Maritime Museum Cornwall
About ten miles away in Falmouth is the National Maritime Museum
in Cornwall. It contains lots of interactive displays about navigation
at sea, boat building and maritime history. There are lots of interesting
objects on display and events going on from time to time.
Glendurgan Gardens
One of the many beautiful gardens in Cornwall, Glendurgan is just
a few miles away in Mawnan Smith. There are wonderful gardens to
explore, a maze to get lost in, and the path leads down to the picturesque
fishing village of Durgan. The gardens are open from March to October.
Goonhilly Satellite Station
Goonhilly Satellite Earth station is the largest Satellite Earth
Station in the world- you can take a tour of the 60 satellite dishes
on site, from the spectacular 32m-diameter Merlin to small dishes
you can control yourself!
