Par Beach
Par Beach is an ideal base for a wonderful variety of holiday
activities.
The park is adjacent to a lake, the clay trails cycle path,
the beach and the sand dunes. Polkerris (the next beach around the coast)
is within walking distance round the coastal path, and has a water sports
centre offering sea canoeing etc.
The beach is large and never becomes over crowded: ideal
for paddling, rock pooling, kite flying and many more games, whilst collecting
shells and pebbles is a great favourite for the very young and old alike.
The dunes offer the opportunity to explore the very particular wild life
and flowers that they sustain.
The lake and wetland area is a firm favourite and attracts
keen bird watchers as we have some quite rare visitors occasionally.
The site is small and has a friendly atmosphere. Facilities
offered include:-
- Tennis
- Bowls
- Crazy Golf
- Small Indoor Swimming Pool
There is no site bar or restaurant but it is only a short
walk to the village where there are local pubs and eating places as well
as Spar and Costcutter shops.
If you wish you can have a car free holiday. There is a
railway station in Par and enough to do locally to keep you busy. A handy
bus can take you to Fowey and from there perhaps the sea ferry to Mevagissey
and then a bus back via St Austell for a great day out.
Just think of it
a stroll on the beach before
breakfast
no getting the car loaded for the day the beach.
