Morvah - Pendeen - Cornwall

Kestrels sleeps 4 people
Sea views

Kestrels occupies a delightful rural setting, with sea views and is located about 1 mile from Morvah, 2 miles from Pendeen, and within about 1½ from the sandy beach at Portherras Cove.

ACCOMMODATION

Kestrels was once a milking parlour and dates from the mid 1800's. It is surrounded mostly by National Trust owned land with 5 bar opening gates from the access lane onto an off road parking area for 2/3 cars.

Stone steps lead through the pretty area of lawned garden to the front of the cottage with a stable type door opening to an entrance porch into the sitting room with beamed and boarded ceilings and wood floors.

Three steps lead up from the living room to a fitted kitchen which enjoys delightful views across the surrounding National trust owned land. There is a washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. Off the rear lobby (with door to rear garden) is a well appointed bathroom with bath and shower over, and a further separate w.c.

On the first floor are two double bedrooms. One has a 5 foot bed and the other has two 3ft singles - both with views both rural and sea. There is plenty of hanging space in the fitted wardrobes.

LOCATION

This is a much loved location in what is considered by some as a "wild" part of Cornwall, renowned for its Celtic heritage and historic sights such as the Nine Maidens Standing Stones, Lanyon Quoit, Men-an-Tol and Chysauster.

Although rural, it is within easy reach of St Just, St Ives and Penzance, the latter having a particularly good range of shops, supermarkets, banks, restaurants and pubs.

The Gurnard's Head (voted Dining Pub of the Year 2008) is within a mile from Kestrels, as is The Tinners Arms at Zennor. There are several farms in the area offering excellent cream teas.

Around this area of West Cornwall there are some exceptionally fine sandy beaches including Sennen for surfing. The stunning coastline has superb walking over the National Trust owned coastal footpath half a mile away and is of particular interest to ramblers and ornithologists.

Other visitors are attracted by the sea fishing whilst there are golf courses at Lelant, Cape Cornwall and Tehidy Park.

St Ives is also renowned for its wide variety of art galleries, including Tate St Ives, whilst the Barbara Hepworth Museum attracts visitors from all round the world.
