Welcome
to New HorizonsFor those wishing to visit this exceptionally
beautiful part of the country and wanting to avoid the expense of renting an entire
house we are pleased to offer two, modern, compact, twin-bedded studios with en-suites
(shower and w.c.). Both studios are open planned to a kitchen/diner/lounge
area with sink and cupboards containing crockery, cutlery, glass wear, fridge,
kettle and toaster. French doors open refreshingly on to paved patio areas. Cooking
is by microwave dual oven/grill so this is an opportunity to take a break from
cooking, in the conventional sense. The comfortable lounge area
has a wall mounted television and there is a sofa, coffee table, breakfast table
and chairs Linen and bath towels are supplied. Please bring beach
towels. Beyond the patio areas is a large, lawned garden with
private parking. The Constantine Bay Stores, purveyors of excellent
produce and fine wines is only 100 yards away. Next to the Bay Stores is the Constantine
Bay Surf Store, well stocked with surf wear, wet suits and surf boards together
with all the advice you will need for tackling the waves. Opposite the two stores
is the bus stop where one can pick up a bus to travel to Padstow, Wadebridge,
Newquay and further afield. Cars can be left parked at New Horizons
as a short walk takes you to the magnificent local surfing beaches of Constantine
Bay, Treyarnon Bay and Booby's Bay. Many other beaches and secluded coves are
within walking distance and there are beautiful coastal walks taking in the southwest
coast path. The Championship golf links of Trevose Golf and Country
Club is also only a short walk away. Dining out is possible locally
at the Trevose Golf Club, the Treglos Hotel and the Youth Hostel café at Treyarnon
Bay. In St. Merryn village (1.5miles away) there are two pubs,
the Cornish Arms (opposite St Merryn Church), recently taken over by the celebrity
chef Rick Stein and the Farmers Arms near the crossroads. At present there are
three restaurants in the village and the Doghouse Wine bar has an excellent restaurant
attached known as Rosel and Co. There is a Chinese takeaway and the award winning
Fryer Tuck's fish and chip restaurant. Just outside St Merryn
is Tresallyn Riding Stables, a well run riding school with horses for all abilities
Approximately 3.5 miles away is the lovely historic port of Padstow
with the acclaimed Rick Stein's, Seafood Restaurant as well as many more eating
places and tasteful shops. Also at Padstow is a cinema, pitch
and putt crazy golf, and the National Lobster Hatchery. Bicycles may be hired
here to cycle the Camel Trail, a disused railway line which runs through Wadebridge
to Bodmin and beyond. Cycling along the beautiful Camel estuary is a favourite
for bird watchers. A short ferry ride will take you from Padstow across the estuary
to Rock village. For supermarket shopping there is Tescos just
at the top of the hill outside Padstow. Cornwall has so many
places of interest to visit, too many to list here, but we must not forget the
world famous Eden Project (approximately 15 miles away) a must visit! Flying
direct to Newquay Airport is becoming another popular choice of getting here,
we are approximately 6 miles from the airport and one of us should be free to
pick you up. |
