Welcome

Longing for peace and quiet? Just wanting a break from it all? Tom and Linda would like to invite you to come and join us in Cornwall for a relaxing peaceful holiday. Sit back and enjoy the breathtaking headland view from our park or take a stroll through the nature reserve to our award winning sandy beach, only a short woodland walk away.

Our Park

Gwendreath Farm Holiday Park is a small quiet park close to the tip of the Lizard Peninsula, the most southerly point in England. We have a spectacular view of the sea and are surrounded by miles of unspoilt coastline, with cliff walks and sandy coves, preserved by the National Trust as a Conservation area and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We do not have any noisy clubs, pubs, bars, gaming machines, video machines or anything like that. In fact we do find that some teenagers get bored on such a quiet park!

Holiday Caravans

We have 21 holiday caravans on our tree lined park spaced round the outside of a three acre field. This gives ample space for sitting out to enjoy the view or simply to park your car outside your caravan door. The caravans are suitable for up to four people (including all children and babies). All have two separate bedrooms and a shower and toilet.

Beach

Kennack Sands, renowned for it's silver sand and safe bathing beach, is only a short woodland walk from your caravan or can be reached by car. There is a car park right on the edge of the beach with toilets and a cafe for a cup of tea or coffee, a sandwich or even a hot Cornish pasty. It’s a clean quiet family beach with shallow fascinating rock pools teaming with many types of marine animals. These are left behind as the tide goes out adding much interest to your day at the beach. It has held the ENCAMS Rural Seaside Award for a number of years guaranteeing a high standard for bathing water, beach and facility cleanliness.

Two Beaches

Kennack Sands is actually split into two beaches by a headland. The second beach is approached by a footpath behind the headland and is very quiet even in the peak holiday period. The clean sea waters are warmed by the Gulf Stream and some people have even swum with the dolphins that it attracts. Dogs are permitted on the eastern beach but the western beach is dog free. If you're an early riser you might be lucky enough to see the Seal Sanctuary releasing seals back into the wild. The warm clear waters that come up from the Gulf of Mexico sweep round the tip of Cornwall making sightings of seals, dolphins, turtles and large but harmless basking sharks quite common.

Nature Reserve

Our beaches are reached by a short walk through Gwendreath National Nature Reserve. During your short stroll through the woods you can admire the profusion of wild flowers such as primroses, bluebells, wild daffodils and irises while your dog runs off the lead.

Cadgwith CoveOut & About

Gwendreath Farm Holiday Park is ideally situated to explore west Cornwall and in particular the many beautiful villages, ports harbours (and village inns) on the Lizard. Within 10 miles are Cadgwith, Coverack, Helford, Kynance Cove, St. Keverne, The Lizard, Helston and many more. Within easy reach are Falmouth, Penzance, St. Michaels Mount, St. Ives, Truro, Camborne, Redruth and even Lands End.

The Helford riverAttractions

Cornwall is not only beautiful scenery and quaint village pubs. There are a number of gardens and attractions such as Flambards our local theme park, the Seal Sanctuary, Goonhilly, Poldark Mine, Paradise Park, the open air Minack Theatre or even a day trip to visit the Eden Project. A number of car boot sales and markets means that there is something for everybody. You can even take the ferry across the Helford for lunch by the river. We often do!

Local gardensActivities

Activities in the area include swimming, sailing, surfing, wind surfing, sub aqua diving, horse riding, golf, fishing, karting, 10-pin bowling and more. For those of us that are a little less active there are some lovely walks to enjoy the spectacular scenery or just sitting on the park and enjoying it from there!
