The sound of seagulls always reminds people of holiday
time and a warm welcome awaits you at The Gulls, a small family-run hotel
nestling on West Looe hill. We are situated opposite East Looe Beach which
gives us unrivalled panoramic views of East and West Looe, the harbour,
river and Atlantic Ocean and the spectacular Cornish coastline sweeping
round to Rame Head.
We are a ten minute walk away from East Looe town centre.
You can either stroll along the river footpath and then walk over the
bridge into town or take the short ferry crossing over Looe River when
the tide is in.
We have so many activities to see and do nearby including
golf, horse-riding, canoeing, surfing, and swimming, and if gardens are
your bag then you're in the right county.
Cornwall has many stunning and award-winning gardens for
you to visit and admire. Why not fish from the end of Banjo
Pier opposite the Hotel and we'll cook your catch! Or, why not
take a boat trip round to Polperro on the 'Smugglers' cruise and then
walk back on the South West Coastal path. If you fancy trying your hand
at diving then the renowned Looe Dive
Centre will be on hand to provide tuition and advice.
If you want the shopping experience then look no further
than Plymouth City Centre just
20 miles away at Drake's Circus shopping
centre where you can be sure of a 21st Century shopping experience.
While in Plymouth you could visit the National
Marine Aquarium which boasts the largest fish tank in Europe. All
this, plus many other attractions means you are spoilt for choice during
your visit.
Accommodation.
We have a selection of twin,
double, single or family bedrooms.
All are equipped with remote controlled colour television, hospitality
trays, luxurious toiletries, clock alarm radio and hairdryer. Most have
either sea or river views.
Within the hotel which is laid out over three floors, you
will find a comfortable lounge where you can just relax and watch the
world go by.
Our dining room overlooks the beach and we offer a choice
of full English or continental style breakfasts which will set you up
for the day. There are many fabulous restaurants, cafes and Inns in Looe
but we also provide a very tempting menu of home-cooked food in the evenings
for those guests that have had a packed day and just wish to unwind at
the Hotel.
If you wish you can dine 'al fresco' on the terrace,
weather permitting.
We can recommend some lovely walks nearby that both you
will enjoy.
Lorraine and Elsie are a mother and daughter team who bought
the hotel in 2004. It had long been our dream to run a Bed and Breakfast
establishment and we have found just the perfect spot. We have carried
out many improvements to the establishment including redecoration and
installing new very comfortable beds. But don't just take our word for
it - ring and book a break - you'll be glad you did!
