Self Catering Holiday Cottage Bude
Driftwood sleeps 4 people + cot
Driftwood is a self contained contemporary new build cottage
that is five to ten minutes walking distance from Summerleaze beach in
Bude, the Canal and the Coastal path.
We
offer Driftwood as a self catering let or with an extra option of an organic
continental breakfast tray to start your day followed by a homemade organic
cake to greet you upon your return from your day or if you prefer wine
and cheese for the adults with cookies and milk for the children.
We have tried to make Driftwood a place to want to stay
in and have decorated with a mixture of modern furniture and antique creating
a stylish place to spend your holiday.
Driftwood has a double and a single bedroom upstairs; down stairs are
a modern bathroom and shower, an open plan living/dining room and fully
equipped kitchen with French doors that open on to a private outside decked
courtyard.
Outside in the courtyard there is seating and a table as well as use of
a gas BBQ and also a bucket BBQ to take to the beach.
Drift off to sleep with your window open to the roaring
lull of the ocean. Waking refreshed with the sea breeze on your face as
you take breakfast outside in the courtyard or take a packed picnic breakfast
basket to the beach with a hot flask of tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
At Driftwood we are keen to offer some extras to make your
stay with us even more special. We can offer an organic breakfast tray
brought into you with no set time, giving you the leisure of having a
sleep in until later. This will be followed by an organic cake, Cornish
cream tea or wine and cheese to be waiting for you on your return of your
day's activities.
We can arrange delicious home cooked food that can be delivered
to you from the amazing Delicatessen in Tintagel (The Good Food Company)
a menu can be sent to you in advance or you can order on your arrival.
All the food is cooked by their amazing Chef and Owner Lucy.
For a special occasion champagne can be waiting for you
in the fridge and a table booked at one of the local restaurants all within
walking distance, or if you prefer a picnic basket for you take down on
to the beach and watch the sunset.
We can book a beach hut for your sole use during your stay
if you wish, taking the hassle out of changing on the beach, however we
are so close most people simply walk home stopping for an ice-cream at
the Brasserie on the Canal half way between Driftwood and Summerleaze
Beach.
Bude -
Bude sits at the top of Cornwall's north coast facing the
Ocean and displaying some of the most stunning and rugged coastline in
England.
Bude as a town has many wonderful things to offer with
several secluded beaches a short drive away and two popular family and
surf beaches only five minutes walk down the road from Driftwood.
There is a canal that joins the sea at Summerleaze beach
and offers a rare opportunity to experience and view one of the very few
working sea locks in the UK.
Things to do -
Surfing is one of the most popular activities and from
Driftwood you can walk down to Summerleaze and Crooklets beach with a
surfboard under your arm. Both have very good surf breaks for experienced
surfers and for those with no experience, we have plenty of good surf
schools and we can arrange lessons for you. The same applies for sea and
canal kayaking. Bude also has opportunities for Abseiling and Coasteering
with four main activities centers for both adults and children.
Further a field you may want to explore Clovelly Watergate Bay, The Eden
project, Adventure parks, Dartmoor, Falmouth, Tamar lakes for sailing,
Rock, Daymer bay, St Ives, St Michael's Mount too many to mention.
We have many National trust properties only about an hour away and access
to both Bodmin and Dartmoor.
