Self Catering Accommodation
St Winnow - Lerryn
- Lostwithiel
Cutbrawn sleeps 4 people
Cutbrawn stands
in the middle of 34 acres of its own immensely private land undergoing
a reversal from intensive farming to a retreat for wildlife with valley
stream, wetlands, ponds and small areas of woodland to wander through.
The West Wing
is only available for a number of weeks each year, allowing time for the
resident owners to maintain the quality accommodation in the condition
everybody hopes to find when they arrive. The wing is for those who want
to forget the humdrum of modern life, to sit awhile watching the dragonflies
across the ponds, walk in the fields, or just laze and enjoy.

LOCATION
Cutbrawn lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty
half a mile from the east bank of the river Fowey, roughly half way between
the village of Lerryn and St Winnow with its well known walks along the
estuary and surrounding countryside.
Lerryn is a beautiful,
unspoiled village on the banks of the upper reaches of the river Fowey.
There is a well stocked shop and Post Office. The Ship Inn serves local
beers and has a good and varied menu. Cream teas are available on the
village green beside the river.
St Winnow is a
tranquil hamlet on the banks of the Fowey estuary, its famous church,
dating back to the 7th century. There is a small beach, and explorers
and walkers can refresh on home made goodies from the adjoining farm (spring
to autumn).

Lostwithiel,
the ancient capital of Cornwall, home of the Black Prince & Restormel
Castle, lies 1.5 miles up stream to the east and has a variety of excellent
quality shops. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, a supermarket,
and 10 antique shops.
The Eden Project
is 6 miles away, Lanhydrock House
3 miles, and Heligan Gardens
10 miles.
Explore the beautiful hidden coves and historic south coast
harbours of Fowey,
Looe, Mevagissey and Polperro
all within a short drive, hop across to the north coast to enjoy dramatic
cliffs and surf in the Atlantic rollers.
