Luxury Self Catering Accommodation
Padstow - Cornwall
Sleeps 8 people
The house was built in the mid-1930s and has a distinct
Art-Deco feel to it. It has just been completely restored by the owner
with a great deal of sensitivity to this architectural period. This has
created a home with great style while at the same time offering all year
round comfort and enjoyment. It is elegant, warm and very tastefully furnished
and decorated.
Accommodation
There are four double bedrooms, two en-suite and one large
bathroom. The house is a 1930s style duplex-bungalow overlooking the Camel
Estuary. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor and the other two
are upstairs, one of which is en-suite and has a beautiful timber balcony
with elevated views across Estuary towards the famous enclave of Rock.
There are two large living rooms off the hall, both with marble fireplaces,
dark hardwood floors and beautifully stylish furniture.
The kitchen is solid oak with slate worktops and a slate
floor leading to an open plan conservatory area.
This is every ones favourite room as it looks out over
the garden and has a magnificent 150 year old dining table that seats
10 people. There is also a utility room off the kitchen with laundry washing
and drying machines.
There is a large patio to the front of the house which overlooks Padstow
harbour and the Estuary. Below the patio is the front garden and street
parking. To the rear of the house is a large private garden and two smaller
patios for BBQ and afternoon sunshine.
There is private parking for two cars to the rear of the
house.
Location
The house is a short and pleasant 5 minute stroll to Padstow
Harbour.
Padstow is a beautiful, working fishing port on the north
Cornwall coast boasting the most picturesque harbour, coastline, unspoilt
beaches and spectacular country scenery. It must be one of Britain's most
beautiful towns.
Padsow's charm lies in its unique setting, nestling on
the west side of the Camel Estuary, well sheltered with quaint individual
houses, cottages, shops and restaurants all surrounding the busy harbour
which attracts people from all over the world. Behind the harbour the
cobbled streets are lined with slate-clad houses, pastel cottages, taverns,
art galleries, antique shops and world class restaurants.
Stroll around the quaint corners and crooked byways of
Padstow and you will find the historic parish church, Prideaux Palace
and the Deer Park, several Inns and magnificent restaurants including
Rick Stein's world famous Seafood restaurant, the wonderful Number 6 Pescadou
restaurant and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant over at Watergate Bay.
The surrounding area is a designated area of outstanding
natural beauty with hidden coves, long sandy beaches, lovely cliff and
country walks. There are dozens of beaches and coves nearby, all facing
different directions and therefore facilitating swimming, sunbathing,
surfing or fishing.
