| How
to find us: |
| From Helston
take the A3083 to the Lizard. Straight across the roundabout
at the end of Culdrose airfield. Approximately 300 yards, take
right turn to Cury and Poldhu Cove. Straight on (until you reach
a ford across the road) and up the hill. Colvennor Farmhouse
is at the top of the hill on the right, just before the village
of Cury. |
Approached by a long driveway, Colvennor Farmhouse
lies in an acre of garden in the village of Cury near Mullion.
Part of this attractive granite fronted Grade
II listed former farmhouse dates back to the 17th Century, whilst
the main house was built circa 1820.
We welcome guests to our home and in the comfortable
and relaxing surroundings aim to provide friendly service and warm
hospitality.
Colvennor is a totally non-smoking house for the
comfort of our guests.
BED AND BREAKFAST ACCOMMODATION
Breakfast is served in the dining room which overlooks
the front cottage garden. Fresh local produce is used wherever possible
for the farmhouse breakfast. The choice is wide and varied, with
vegetarian and special diets catered for.
The lounge, with its beamed ceiling and granite
fireplace, offers guests a room in which to relax at any time. The
wide range of maps, books and holiday information can be used to
help in planning the holiday activities and we are very happy to
help in this.
The three bedrooms, two double and one twin, are
furnished with guests' comfort in mind and include colour television,
hairdryer and a well stocked hospitality tray, an attractive bathroom
featuring a beautifully restored cast iron bath is also available
to guests.
The ground floor bedroom overlooks the side and
rear garden whilst the first floor rooms have far reaching rural
views. Glimpses of Mounts Bay can be seen from the rear garden which
is also available for guests to relax in.
THE LIZARD PENINSULA
The Coastal Path is only a mile away, and walkers
are welcome. We have facilities to store muddy boots or to dry walking
clothes should this be necessary. We are happy to provide transport
within the Lizard area to enable ramblers to undertake non-circular
walks. There is also an excellent rural bus service which will stop
at the end of the drive.
The Lizard Peninsula is a designated area of outstanding
natural beauty and, due to the mild climate, unique natural flora
and fauna abound at different times of the year. This natural beauty
is supplemented by the many famous gardens which are within easy
reach of Colvennor.
Kynance Cove, Poldhu Cove, Cadgwith, Helford, Gunwalloe
Cove, Porthleven and Lizard Point are all within six miles, and
Colvennor also acts as a good base for touring South West Cornwall,
with Penzance, St Ives, Truro and Falmouth all within easy reach.
The Eden Project is just over one hours drive
away.
The small harbour of Mullion Cove and the Mullion
Golf Club, with its nationally renowned course on the cliff top,
are nearby. The ancient market town of Helston maintains an old
fashioned feel and has an interesting history, including the world
famous Flora Day in early May.
Eating out in Cornwall is an ever increasing pleasure,
and we maintain a comprehensive list of places to eat, with sample
menus in many cases and are very happy to make reservations when
necessary.
We are set well off the road and there is ample
and easy parking available.
Our aim is to ensure your visit to West Cornwall
is made as memorable as possible and we pride ourselves on providing
that personal touch and attention to detail which helps to achieve
this.
