Coast House is a victorian town house built in 1870, for a shipping merchant. In 1903-07 the house was occupied by the American impressionist Walter Elmer Schofield RBA ROI (1867-1944) who was regarded as one of America's leading landscape painters. During his time in St Ives he was a very active member of the arts club.

St. Ives is a town of outstanding beauty, with blue flag golden sandy beaches, attracting artists, shoppers, beachcombers, surfers and families alike. Experience the unique charm of this Cornish fishing town...whitewashed buildings and winding, cobbled streets, waiting to be explored. Dining in beach side and terraced restaurants. There is a multitude of colourful shops, restaurants, cafes and art galleries, including The Tate, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and the open golf courses at Tregenna Castle and Lelant.

The town is a perfect base for exploring Cornwall, with all it’s charming villages, stunning coastal towns and attractions, including St. Michael’s Mount, Penzance, Land’s End, Mousehole, Minack Theatre, Lizard Peninsula, Tintagel Castle and The Eden Project to mention but a few.
