A newly converted stone built holiday cottage in
a central location. Absolutely quiet with spectacular views, yet a short
walk across the fields to the village of St Mabyn. Perfect for
touring Cornwall from coast to coast.
Accommodation
The Coach House is approached over a private lane,
and has adjacent parking for two cars. There is a slate terrace in front
of the living room, and a sheltered area for barbeques. The house has
wonderful views across the valley, and in the summer, South Devon
cows graze the adjacent fields.
It is four minutes walk across two fields to the village
shop and post office, which stocks all essential supplies. The St. Mabyn
Inn is a friendly local pub, with good pub grub and excellent beers. The
Camel Trail can be accessed at nearby Helland.
Location
The Coach House is well placed for all kinds of
holiday activity, 15 minutes drive from the town of Wadebridge
and about ten minutes from the main A30, Cornwall's arterial road, which
will get you to any of Cornwall's tourist attractions.
Golf is available at St. Enodoc, Bowood and Roserrow, all within
about 20 minutes drive.
The spectacular North Cornwall coast is about 20
minutes drive away, at Port Isaac, Polzeath or Rock,
and there is wonderful walking both on the Cornish Coast Path, and inland
on Bodmin Moor.
Golf, walking, sailing, surfing, cycling and fishing are all popular pursuits
in the local area.
Local food is a real treat, with Michelin starred Chef
Nathan Outlaw cooking at the St. Enodoc Hotel, and Paul Ripley (ex of
Rick Stein's Seafood restaurant) at the nearby St. Kew Inn.
Other tourist attractions within an easy drive of The Coach
House include historic Tintagel, the Eden Project,
the Camel Cycle Trail and historic properties including the National
Trust properties of Lanhydrock, Pencarrow and Trerice.
Nearby Rock offers superb sailing, water-skiing,
golf at the well known links course of St. Enodoc From Rock, the ferry
runs daily to the fishing port of Padstow, where Rick Steins's
internationally acclaimed Seafood Restaurant is just one of the places
to eat. Fishing trips can be booked from both Rock and Padstow.
Further afield, the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth,
the Tate at St. Ives, the National Marine Aquarium at Plymouth
and numerous other attractions ensure that a holiday at the Coach House
can be as action packed or relaxing as you wish to make it.
