Coaches Rest is set on a working beef/arable farm, and is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing enjoyable holiday. It is situated in a stunning location in spectacular scenic countryside offering magnificent river views over the Fowey Valley, nestled beside a beautiful 13th Century Church, on the edge of a peaceful riverside village. Coaches Rest is a very spacious, beautifully restored old barn retaining the traditional old beams, and was once used to rest the horse and coaches whilst visiting the Church. ACCOMMODATION It is a single story barn that sleeps 4 plus a cot. It has a double bedroom with en-suite that has a level entry shower, wash basin and WC with hand rails (wheelchair friendly). It also has a twin bedded room with en-suite that has a WC, wash basin and bath. It has a very spacious kitchen, dining and living area and has been tastefully furnished and well equipped to a high standard. It is also ideal for people with restricted walking ability. The kitchen includes an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a paved patio area with garden furniture and gas barbeque and steps that lead up to a large fenced lawn with extensive views of the river with boats resting on their moorings. Bed linen, duvets, towels, electricity, cot, highchair, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and oil central heating are inclusive.
Whilst at Coaches Rest you can wander along the farm trail and enjoy the breathtaking views of the river, stroll through the woods for a bit of bird watching or wildlife and perhaps spot a badger, rabbit or even a deer. Just a 5 minute walk down to the village of Golant where there is a local pub, (which offers good food and perhaps you might even sample the ale) an Art Gallery with local crafts, a children's village play area or perhaps go crabbing off the pier. Fowey with its narrow streets and pretty shops has a beautiful Port and harbour with sailing, fishing and pleasure trips. During May Fowey hosts the Daphne du Maurier Festival of Arts and literature. During August, Fowey Regatta week holds its Annual Carnival, firework displays and a visit from the Red Arrow Display Team. Close to St Austell Bay, the local area has plenty to offer with beaches and coves to explore, Ancient Towns and fishing villages to visit, Golf courses, coastal paths to walk with breathtaking coastline, exquisite National Trust properties and Gardens, the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan and of course, the outstanding Eden Project. There is an excellent choice of pubs and restaurants within the local area serving varied menus to suit most tastes. Cornwall offers many attractions for all ages and interest any time of the year. Accessibility is not difficult with motorway access to Exeter and the A30 duelled carriageway to Cornwall. Fly into Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth or Newquay Airports.
