
We are surrounded by wonderful sandy beaches
with rock pools, caves and plenty of things to do for families and surfers
alike.
A short walk away are Tolcarne beach, Great
Western beach, Towan beach, Lusty Glaze beach and the world famous
Fistral beach. Further a field you’ll find Crantock and
Watergate Bay beaches.
In the town you can see the working harbour
where you can arrange sea fishing (in season). At the nearby Towan beach
is the Blue Reef Aquarium. For the more energetic, you can play
golf on a variety of courses or walk the many miles of scenic coastal
paths. Five minutes down the road there are the beautiful Trenance Gardens
and boating lake, Water World, miniature railway, tennis courts, bowls
and Cornwall’s only Zoo.
Newquay
is ideally situated as a superb base to visit all parts of Cornwall. From
coast to coast it takes a little over 30 minutes. An hours drive away
is Lands End, Minack open air theatre and St Michael's
Mount which is also close to St Ives where you can visit the Tate
Gallery.
All around the coast there are picturesque fishing villages
such as Mevagissey, Padstow and Looe. Other nearby places
of interests are Falmouth Maritime Museum and Truro’s Hall for
Cornwall. Cornwall is scattered with National Trust properties
and gardens such as The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Just 30 minutes away in St Austell is the world renowned
Eden Project, which had 2 million visitors in its first season.
Eden has recently been chosen a location for the next James Bond Film.
If you decide to spend your holiday in Cornwall The Eden Project is definitely
worth a visit.
