Only ½ of a mile from the fantastic Watergate Bay, two miles of beautiful golden sand, famous for surfing and home to the Extreme Academy and Jamie Oliver's superb "15" Restarant. The Extreme Academy based on Watergate Bay, birthplace of long board surfing in this country back in the 60's, will teach you surfing, power-kiting, kite-surfing and buggying. They have all the equipment to hire or buy and they boast an awesome crowd of people and a great atmosphere, in one of the UK's most spectacular locations. The Beach Hut bar and bistro, well known as one of Cornwall's best beach-side hangouts and a great place to eat. Lazy lunches, evening parties, amazing hot chocolates, a great menu and sunsets to rival anywhere in the world. The Eden Project is approx. 30 minutes by car. |

Chycothan is a 300 year old farmhouse with a wealth of period features including exposed beams, fireplace with traditional Cornish cloam oven and wood burning stove. The house has distant views of the Atlantic over Watergate Bay from the upstairs rooms and from the summerhouse situated in the small enclosed garden.
Chycothan is one of the oldest properties in the village of Tregurrian and once owned all the surrounding land. Tregurrian sits on the hill above Watergate Bay. It is an old village, but in the summer months a small shop opens to us all for fresh baked bread and the usual daily requirements. It is just a couple of miles from Newquay Airport which boasts daily flights to & from London, Southampton, Leeds and many other destinations. The pretty village of St Mawgan is 2 miles away and the charming Mawgan Porth beach is also 2 miles north of Watergate. Newquay town and the world famous Fistral Beach is approx. 4 miles distance.
ACCOMMODATION
The house is fully equipped for up to 8 people to spend their holiday in comfort.
The large sitting room has open fire, TV & video and a selection of video and books to read. The dining room features a traditional Cornish cloam oven with wood burning stove and a large oak dining table. This leads to a new small conservatory. The kitchen has a range-style electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and stereo with a selection of CDs and tapes.
The 'Cattle Shed' contains a cloakroom and shower cabinet and washing machine. This is a good drying room for wet suits etc and wet dogs! A good storage area for surf boards and bikes. Delightful conservatory with ample seating.
Bedrooms:
There are four double bedrooms and one family bathroom (bath and
separate shower). The large beamed Master Bedroom has sea view and plenty
of space for a cot if required. Every room in the house has central heating.
The Crows Nest has 2 single beds that can form a double
if needed. This room has the best sea views. The Blue Room has a double
bed.
The Sparrows Nest has two full-size single beds.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome, only with responsible owners.
