For those who truly appreciate the peace, tranquillity and beauty of the Cornish countryside, Catherine Park is ideally located for their family holiday, set in an area of Great Landscape Value, only two miles from the picturesque fishing villages of Looe and Polperro.

The six bungalows comprise two and three bedrooms and will sleep up 4 and six, respectively. They are comfortably furnished and thoughtfully equipped; with an open plan lounge/diner and kitchen area, and shower room. There is a small outside seating area with table and chairs, and containers and low walls filled with flowers, and honeysuckle, clematis, and ivy climbing up the pergola.

The lovely heated swimming pool, is normally open from May until September. It is a real sun trap and is a great place to enjoy a picnic meal after a swim, or just to relax in the sun. Our grounds extend to three acres of lawns and informal mature shrub beds. There is plenty of space for the children to play in, plus an enclosed play area with swings etc.

From almost everywhere the uninterrupted panoramic rural views are truly magnificent; Bodmin Moor forms the backdrop to our view and, on a clear day, Dartmoor can be seen in the far distance.

There are extensive woods just two minutes stroll away and for the more energetic, the lovely coastal footpaths are easily accessible. There's riding, golf, tennis, canoeing, sailing and fishing and so much more not too far away. The exciting Eden Project only 45 minutes drive away is now open and like the Lost Gardens of Heligan are a must to visit!

The mild climate of our spring and autumn makes Cornwall an ideal short or long break destination, the early arrival of the many wild flowers to the coast and footpaths compliment the colourful displays at the many National Trust house and gardens in the area.

Autumn walks along the coastal path or estuaries can be a relaxing way of relieving the stresses of the week. There is wildlife in abundance and you should be able to spot the seals or visiting birds to the shoreline.

Travelling by road from London and the Midlands is as little as 4½ hours, Bristol is only 2 hours and when you arrive the roads are relatively traffic free when the children are back at school making driving much more enjoyable.

Catherine Park has something for everyone at all times of the year, with night storage heating included from October to April. It is personally and caringly run by us, Elizabeth and Richard Gegg; we live here and take great pleasure in welcoming many of our guests as friends and extended family!
