ROUND AND ABOUT The Eden Project is only 30 minutes drive away. The market town of Liskeard with its Lux Park Leisure Centre and swimming pool is about 20 minutes drive, while Plymouth, either by the Tamar Bridge or Torpoint Ferry is about 45 minutes. Here you will find the National Marine Aquarium, cinemas, theatre, sports centres and modern shopping parades plus the historic Hoe where Sir Francis Drake played bowls as the Armada approached and the Barbican where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for America. 5 minutes drive away are the picturesque villages of Looe, Polperro & Fowey. This part of Cornwall abounds in National Trust properties, farm parks, gardens, theme parks, craft and activity centres. Sailing, riding and both sea and fresh water fishing are available within a few miles.

Along a quiet leafy country lane 1 mile from the village of Pelynt you will find Cartole Cottages, a small select group of seven cottages, converted, about 14 years ago from the barns of Cartole Farm The farm has been part of the local countryside for at least 300 years.

As many of the original features were left intact each cottage has a shape and identity entirely its own. This, with beamed ceilings and some walls of exposed original stonework combine with our comfortable furnishings and many homely little additions to make a holiday home full of character.

We are 4 miles by road to either Looe or Polperro, 2 miles to Talland Bay and if you continue down our country lane you will find the delightful small beaches and coves of Lansallos, Lantivet Bay, Lantic Bay and on to Polruan and the ferry across to Fowey, plus the many miles of spectacular walks along the coastal path. We are only a 30 minute drive from the amazing Eden Project.

SELF CATERING COTTAGES NEAR LOOE & POLPERRO

All our cottages have fitted carpets throughout and are fully heated either by storage heaters or central heating, which is on from mid September to mid May (for which we make no extra charge) to make sure they are always warm and comfortable.

We have four two-bedroomed cottages. All the lounges are well furnished and have a comfortable three piece suite, colour television and video and flame effect electric fire; the kitchens have full size cookers and fridges, electric kettles, microwaves and toasters and all the many items you' may need.

The bathrooms have a full size suite with electric shower over the bath and have either a heated towel rail or radiator plus electric wall heater; there is a shaver point in all the cottages. The beds will be made with duvets ready for your arrival and spare blankets are stored in the airing cupboard should you need them.

THE COTTAGES

Penny's Cottage - sleeps 4

Lounge with dining area, separate kitchen and bathroom downstairs, upstairs: double bedroom with hand basin and twin bedroom, beautiful open country views from lounge and bedrooms, large lawned area with picnic table, parking outside the door. Though slightly smaller than our other two-bedroomed cottages it is very popular, we have many regular visitors who ask for Penny's when they book their next holiday. Very comfortable for up to four persons but not suitable for a cot.

The Linney - sleeps 4

This is our only two bedroom cottage all on the ground floor, suitable for anyone who may have difficulty with stairs. It has a large lounge with dining area, separate kitchen, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Very nice views of the gardens, parking outside the door. Suitable for four persons but not suitable for a cot or children under 10.
No Dogs.
Fully heated by Economy 7 storage heaters.

The Shippen - sleeps 4

A very nice large lounge with dining alcove, separate kitchen with fridge freezer. Upstairs: double bedroom, bathroom and twin bedroom, nice views of the garden and countryside, small lawn with picnic table, parking a few yards away on the car park. A very comfortable cottage for up to four persons plus a cot.

Kernewyck Cottage - sleeps 4

Very large lounge with dining area, separate kitchen and bathroom downstairs. Upstairs: large double bedroom and a bedroom with two single beds; very nice views of the garden and countryside, picnic table on large lawned area behind the parking spaces opposite the cottage. Suitable for up to four persons plus a cot.

Caro's Cottage - sleeps 6

Access is by seven steps and a short grassed pathway, facing south over a large lawned area to the open countryside beyond, it has a high degree of privacy. Caro's differs from the other cottages in that it has a large kitchen with a dining area and a separate lounge, there is a ground floor double bedroom with en-suite shower room, the main bathroom is also on the ground floor. Upstairs a double bedroom and a twin bedroom.

Outside there is a picnic table on the lawn and parking is a short distance away on the parking area. Suitable for up to six persons plus a cot. Full central heating. £1 electricity meter.

Pump Cottage - sleeps 2

It adjoins the farmhouse where we live and was used to house the pump which drew all the water for the farm. It has a double bedroom with shower ensuite and a combined living/dining room with a kitchen area. It is furnished with a comfortable two seater settee and pine dining and kitchen furniture, colour television, video, electric fire etc. and fitted carpets throughout; though very small it is a cosy cottage for two persons with a small patio outside. Parking is at the side of the cottage with a lawned area beyond.
Full central heating. All electricity is included in the rental.

The Old Stable - sleeps 2

A very pleasant cottage with far reaching views of the countryside and garden, it is slightly larger than Pump Cottage and has a combined living/ dining room with a kitchen area, a comfortable two seater settee, pine dining and kitchen furniture, colour television, video, electric fire, etc. Both the bedroom and en-suite shower room have fitted carpets. Heating is by storage heater plus a convector heater. A comfortable cottage for two persons. All electricity included in the rental. Each cottage is equipped with an iron, ironing board and clothes airer. We have a separate laundry with a coin operated washer and dryer and outside drying facilities.

Pets: 1 small dog by arrangement in certain cottages.
