Tours for the public are held on Tuesdays (short tour) and Thursdays (long tour), but it is best that you check days and times by telephoning (0 1840) 212242.
Delabole is also home to Britain's first commercial windfarm. The village is long in formation, and has some shops for essentials, garages, churches, post office, toilets, and a playing field. Local pubs are delightful, and there are footpaths to explore where cottages and farmsteads of ancient Cornwall can be spotted.
The headquarters of the Cornwall 1 st Air Ambulance is in Delabole, this essential service is completely dependant on its own fundraising activities. The service provides a vital link for visitors as well as local people in cases of emergency. The helicopter is equipped to deal with all types of incidents and can take casualties to hospital far quicker than by road ambulance.
