Sadly
we have all seen the images of the damage to the picturesque village
of Boscastle, and the monumental efforts of the people of the Cornish
hamlet alongside Local Services to start the process of renewal.
Whilst
this gigantic task is getting under way, we must bear in mind that
this was brought about by a freak weather pattern, causing localised
damage. Cornwall Online has been in contact with the people that
we represent in the area, from the very start of these tragic events
- offering our support and encouragement. The resounding message
that we are getting from the people and businesses in the village
is one of determination and a positive attitude to rebuild for the
future.
A
vital part of this positive approach is to stress as strongly as
we can, that; Boscastle and the surrounding area is still accessible,
the harbour area is once again open to the public and it's business
as usual.
As
a tourist destination Boscastle offers something for everyone. The
village is an ideal base for exploring the wonderful North Cornish
coast, with its picturesque fishing villages, the magic of Tintagel
and the remote splendour of the Moors. Whatever you look for in
a holiday, be it historic castles, garden or buildings; family days
on golden sands; fishing or surfing; coastal scenery or wildlife,
walking or cycling;- this beautiful part of Cornwall has a lot to
offer.
We
are supporting Boscastle - and you can too; so support the people,
communities and businesses of North Cornwall with your continued
patronage.
