Admiral Cottage - Tamarisk Cottage in Boscastle
Self catering accommodation in North Cornwall
Two charmingly traditional Cornish cottages
sleeping 4/5 and 2/3
respectively can be booked separately, or as one larger property

The cottages date from the 1700s and are situated in Boscastle's 'old' High Street which provides an ideal point for exploring the North Cornish coastline, with its spectacularly rugged cliffs, the many popular surfing and bathing beaches, various National Trust properties, the Eden Project etc.

Boscastle is a wonderful holiday centre for walkers, bird, butterfly and wild flower lovers, writers, painters, surfers, beachgoers and anybody seeking to spend their holiday in an unspoilt haven.

The cottages are used extensively by the family as holiday homes. They have been lovingly restored and renovated by the owners who are personally totally involved in letting the cottages, welcoming visitors but asking them to respect the personal atmosphere of all three cottages.

The cottages are available to let for family holidays throughout the year, special breaks i.e. Christmas, Easter, holiday weekends and for shorter periods at special rates, usually during the off-season. Dogs are permitted by arrangement only.

Prices do not include the cost of heating/electricity. Linen is generally not included, but can be arranged at an extra cost. Pets are permitted by prior arrangement at a small extra cost. Please advise if you require a travel cot/highchair at any of the cottages. We can also provide a Basic Provisions Pack and freshly cooked/frozen dishes.

Boscastle and Surrounding Area

The cottages are well situated in the upper part of the village with the characterful 16th Napoleon Inn on the doorstep. The garage/grocery is close by and it is a pleasant walk down the olde worlde former main street (Fore Street) to the Post Office and harbour area in the lower part of the village.

Here you will find the Tourist Office, with information about walks, fishing trips, golfing, riding, and nearby pubs, restaurants, beaches etc. There are also a number of shops where food supplies can be bought and of course the opportunity to try a 'Cornish pasty' in one of the teashops or pubs down there. Returning to the cottage however is uphill!

There are many places of interest to visit in the near vicinity but to name just a few, the pretty churches of Minster (in a beautiful setting, with bats!), St. Juliot's (associations with Thomas Hardy), Rocky Valley, St Nectan's Glen and Tintagel.

For walkers, the rugged coastal path or the wooded Valency valley especially pretty in the spring can be reached on foot from the cottages.

For surfers or beachgoers, Crackington Haven, Trebarwith Strand are a short drive away and any number of small coves and bays where few venture. Further afield is the pretty fishing village of Port Isaac, renowned for its sea food and a little further on, the popular resorts of Polzeath, Rock and the Camel Estuary across from which lies Padstow, with its delightful harbour and the well-known Rick Stein restaurant. The closest local towns are Camelford and Wadebridge, a little further away is Bodmin (rail link) and in opposite directions the surfing resorts of Bude and Newquay (airport).
