Carbis Bay is ideally situated for all local amenities and an ideal central location to explore all of West Cornwall, and beyond.

The Borthalan private Hotel is over 100 years old and built of block granite, with lots of character and spacious grounds to relax in.

We have 7 Bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities and five have magnificent sea views, over St Ives bay and Godrevy lighthouse.

Holidays in St IvesAll of the rooms are equipped with remote colour TV, hair dryers, tea / coffee making facilities and radio etc.

We have a very comfortable guest lounge with sea views, a licensed bar and our dining room is situated with the morning sun ready to greet you. The garden has benches to relax in and watch the boats go by.

The nearest sandy beach is only four minutes walk from the hotel and the scenic train running along the coast with splendid views, from St Ives to Penzance, St Ives is only three minutes away by train.

The clean, safe beaches, have lovely golden sands, ideal for relaxing, If you require surfing, St Ives has three beaches with one in particular, the Porthmeor, a very good surfing beach.

If its walking you like, there are lots of scenic coastal walks to enjoy and places of interest to visit, Golf courses are nearby, fishing, boat trips, helicopter, boat and plane rides to the Isles of Scilly or just sight seeing.

St Ives has its own Tate gallery, plus lots of other art galleries with wide variety of art and paintings, historic house, museums and gardens.

There is something of interest for everyone. It has lovely old cobble streets and a quaint fishing harbour, with lots of restaurants and pubs, gift shops, cafes and Cornish pasties galore, not forgetting its own all important life boat station.
