Look out across St. Ives bay from inside and outside this
charming wooden chalet on Riviere Towans (towans is the Cornish word for
dunes).
Beach, sunbathing and
surfing are 2 minutes from the doorstep. The beach is a stunning
3-mile stretch of golden sand with clean blue sea, shallow pools and surf
on one side with dunes and cliffs on the other. You can walk along the
beach or along the coast path on top of the sand dunes to Godrevy Lighthouse
looking at the fishing boats and the extensive views. Watch out for dolphins
and seals, as they are regular visitors to the bay.
The section of the beach nearest the
chalet is Lifeguard patrolled throughout the summer. Shallow pools
left by the tide retreating are an excellent place for small children
to play and there is enough room to find a private spot to watch the sun
go down, swim, play beach football, fly a kite, have a walk or to find
some peace.
Surf lessons, diving
instruction and trips, fishing expeditions, jet-ski launch, golf,
pitch and putt, coarse fishing, horse-riding, playground, skate &
BMX park, open-air swimming pool, go-karting, Paradise Park Bird Sanctuary
with indoor soft play and demon drop slides, beautiful exotic gardens,
art galleries, ancient monuments, bird watching, top live music venues
and museums are all available in the immediate area. The beach is famous
for surfing, hang-gliding, kitesurfing and windsurfing.
Hayle town is a short
walk and has many shops, pubs, restaurants and live music venues.
The town is an ideal base to visit nearby Riviere Towans - Hayle, Penzance
and other tourist destinations such as The Eden Project, Tate, Penzance
Exchange, Minack Theatre, St. Michael's Mount and Geevor Tin Mine. Ferries
to the Isles of Scilly go from nearby Penzance. St. Ives is a short distance
away and easily reached by bus, train or car.
Grass and a private terrace
- perfect for sunbathing, BBQs and games, surround the chalet. A children's
playground is 300 yards from chalet with swings, climbing frame, seesaw
and sand pit. There are few cars and a 10-mile an hour speed limit with
speed bumps.
This is a summer holiday to enjoy in beautiful Cornwall
in true beach accommodation with "Cath Kidson" style retro charm
with it's tongue and groove wooden walls but all modern conveniences:
