St Ives Beachfront Holiday Apartment with Stunning Sea Views Over Porthmeor Beach

Once home to the famous potter Bernard Leach, has a beachfront location with uninterrupted sea views, located in the picturesque old quarter of St. Ives in the heart of what locals call 'Downalong'. The lounge has a large picture window directly overlooking Porthmeor beach and is perfect for wave watching or enjoying the spectacular sunsets.

The holiday apartment is only a short walk away from St. Ives' bustling town centre and harbour with many excellent bars, restaurants, shops and art galleries. The property has the added bonus of a private lockup garage and has direct access to the beach.

Accommodation

The property retains many of its original character features.

The entrance on the ground floor leads to a modern fully fitted Kitchen with dining area. the kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave etc. (there is also a private laundry on site for guests use).

Open stairs lead to the first floor landing. There are two bedrooms overlooking the rear courtyard: Bedroom 1, has a kingsize double bed with vanity basin and fitted wardrobes; Bedroom 2, a smaller room with pull out single/twin trundle bed. The Bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and wash basin. The Lounge is comfortably furnished and has breathtaking views over Porthmeor beach and the sea. TV, radio and Free WiFi There are night storage heaters in all rooms. All electricity, heating and hot water are included. Linen and towels are available for a small laundry fee, if required, payable at the time of booking. Or guests are welcome to bring their own linen and towels.

The picturesque fishing town of St Ives is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the UK. Life in St Ives centres around the harbour and its beaches, with excellent quality bars, restaurants and shops. It has a large artist community with many art galleries including the famous Tate St. Ives.

St. Ives has a number of beaches but Porthmeor, is probably the most popular with sunbathers and surfers alike. There are lifeguards on duty from Spring Bank Holiday to the end of September. Wether you want to take one of the many different boat trips available from the harbour, explore spectacular walks along the Cornish coast path, wander around the many art galleries or simply relax on the beach. Bernard Leach at Barnaloft St Ives – Historic Coastal Holiday Apartment

No 4. Barnaloft was at one time the home of Bernard Howell Leach CH CBE ( 5^th January 1887 - 6^th May 1979). A British studio potter and art teacher - Bernard Leach was regarded as the "Father of British studio pottery".

In 1920, Leach founded The Leach Pottery in St Ives. The pottery quickly became one of the most respected and influential potteries in the world. Over the years, the pottery trained potters, students and apprentices - with the underlying principle of East/West exchange, creating an internationally renowned sphere of cultural influence in the heart of Cornwall. The Leach Pottery Studio, Museum and Gallery continue developing Bernard Leach's historic legacy.
