Formerly part of the Prideaux Estate, Ballaminers House (built circa 1830), was originally the farmhouse to a fully functional 100 acre livestock farm.

Located in an elevated position, Ballaminers House offers views over the village of Little Petherick and the surrounding countryside and is situated only two miles south of Padstow.

The house is built of traditional mellow toned Cornish stone. Other original features include Delabole slate floors covering the ground floor rooms, window shutters to the reception rooms and attractive window seats are to be found throughout the house

Trerice

An attractive light sunny room with a window seat overlooking the front garden complete with the original mahogany floorboards. Palest primrose yellow walls are complimented by Antique furniture and a contempory Balinese headboard and bedside table. The bedroom is dressed in Designer Guild fabrics. Tea and Coffee tray, hairdryer, Balinese dressing gowns and a basket of magazines are provided.

Zennor

Freshly painted white walls ,cream rugs and neutral soft furnishings make this exceptionally light and cosy cottage size twin bedded room a very restful place to be in. Overlooking the front garden this bedroom is simply furnished with an Antique mahogany chest of drawers, a built in cupboard and an attractive white wooden Balinese mirror fronted by a pair of decorative doors. Balinese dressing gowns, tea and coffee tray , hairdryer and a selection of magazines are provided for guests to use.

Lamorna

A double bedroom situated at the front of the house, with built in cupboards on either side of the bed, original window seat and dressing gowns for guests to use.

Complimentary tea/coffee tray is provided as well as bottled water and a small selection of bathtime treats. There is a second bathroom situated next to this bedroom. It is in a contemporary style and has a power-shower.

Bedrooms at Ballaminers all have central heating, a complimentary tea and coffee tray, bottled water, his and hers dressing gowns are provided to use and a small selection of bathtime treats. Similarly, large fluffy bath sheets come as standard in all rooms for guests to use.

During the colder months, electric blankets are also available to use.

Bathroom (A bathers delight)!

Painted in a Heritage stone, this spacious bathroom offers a large Victorian scroll footed bath allowing guests to lie back, soak and truly relax in. The bath is luxuriously deep and big enough to fit 2 people in!

Bathroom Two

A contemporary style room offering guests the choice of either having a bath, or taking a shower under the large rose head over the bath. Lavender bath oil and a selection of shower gels are provided.

We provide Duchy Originals Organic Bathroom Treats for guests to use during their stay

Dining Room

Breakfast is served in our dining room in one sitting at 9.00am. An earlier breakfast is available for guests participating in one of Rick Stein's cookery courses. The Dining Room is furnished in a traditional manner with many original features including pine shutters, window seats and stripped wooden floors.

Breakfast is cooked on our Aga using delicious Organic bacon, sausages, and eggs provided by an Organic farm in our neighbouring village.

A cereal selection, dried fruit, greek yoghurt, fruit bowl, bread basket including Rick Stein's Wholemeal & Walnut Bread, fruit juice, homemade jams and Cornish honey complete the perfect start to your day. With the addition of strawberries and raspberries grown in our kitchen garden when available. Guests are welcome to eat breakfast in the garden next to the apple tree.

Garden

The pretty one acre garden surrounds the house and overlooks our field to one side. For fresh air enthusiasts we are delighted for our guests to enjoy breakfast under the morning sun.

The garden is planted with many shrubs native to Cornwall and flowers are hand picked for all our bedrooms.

 

Self-catering - Stable Cottage
(Sleeps 5 + cot)

Stable Cottage is an architect designed conversion of the old stable and piggeries to the farm.

Converted using old stone, slate, and original materials the cottage is on one level making it an ideal choice for older members of the family and toddlers alike.

Situated in a quiet elevated village position only three miles from Padstow and Rick Stein's restaurants, the property sits overlooking our two acre field and guests may enjoy watching the sheep grazing. Old wooden flooring and original beams add to the delight of this gem of a property.

The Eden Project is within easy reach. North Cornwall offers numerous activities all of which are on the doorstep, sailing, surfing, golf, cycling on the Camel Trail, horseriding, shooting, the Maritime Museum, and a wealth of history in our historic houses and fascinating gardens to visit. There are many wonderful beaches nearby , you may even catch the seals at play. Cornwall benefits from mild winters and spring comes early too. Most of the attractions are open twelve months of the year and it is worth considering an 'out of season break ' or a short stay - wer'e flexible so please do enquire about the number of nights you might like to stay.
