Located in the far west of Cornwall, on the Atlantic coast, Geevor Tin Mine is a fabulous exhibit of Cornish mining history.
A fully working mine until 1990, Geevor Tin Mine is now the largest preserved mining site and museum in the UK.
This large site includes various buildings and underground-guided tours, which detail the fascinating process of extraction through the 18th and 19th centuries.
Geevor also has a wonderful museum, which tells the story of mining in Cornwall over the years and what life was like for those who earned their living underground!
There is a wonderful coffee shop with spectacular views of the surrounding coastline and a fully stocked gift shop with books, jewellery and much, much more.
A fascinating day out for all the family!
