Bolster Farm is located in St Agnes on the north coast of Cornwall. It has nineteen acres of pasture in a peaceful rural setting with sea views towards St Ives. It is within easy reach of St Agnes village and its two beaches.

Bolster Farm Cottage is well equipped and comfortably furnished in a light modern style. It is set in a peaceful rural location yet close to St Agnes village. Chapel Porth beach is within easy reach. The Coastal footpath and St Agnes Beacon are a short walk away. The cottage provides light and spacious accommodation on two levels and sleeps 4-6.

Cornish Farm Trails

Bolster Farm lies to the south of St Agnes Beacon. The land is divided into small fields by Cornish hedges. The Farm Trail takes a circular route through these fields with open views to the sea and surrounding countryside.

Wildlife
Two wildlife hides are positioned in the orchard and near to an area of badger sets where badgers may be seen at dusk. The pond, hedges and orchard provide habitats for diverse wildlife: birds (buzzards, pheasants, finches etc) bats, butterflies, dragonflies, foxes, and rabbits. Field guide leaflets are available for further investigation, covering wildlife, plants and flowers.

Farm livestock
Bolster Farm has a variety of animals: Sheep and lambs, geese, ducks and hens. We also sometimes have pigs and cattle. There are several locations where visitors can watch the animals being fed. Seasonal farm produce is available.

The Bolster Bank
This ancient earthwork thought to be post-Roman, once surrounded St Agnes Beacon, passing from Chapel Porth through the centre of St Agnes village and down towards Trevaunance Cove. The only remaining accessible section runs across Bolster Farm. It rises to a height of 3.4m above its 1m deep ditch.

Longer walks
There are many extended walks from Bolster Farm into the surrounding landscape. St Agnes Beacon is a 10-minute walk, with wide ranging views over land and sea. The coastal footpath is 20 minutes walk and includes beautiful cliff top scenery with interesting flora and fauna. Other walks through the St Lawrence valley and along the beaches at Chapel Porth, Trevaunance and Trevellas are within easy reach.

Location

St Agnes is on the North Coast between Newquay and St Ives, approximately 9 miles from Truro. It is well situated for exploration of other parts of Cornwall. Penzance, St Ives and Falmouth are within easy driving distance. St Michael's Mount, Trebah gardens, The Tate Gallery St Ives: these are examples of an excellent day out. Other attractions include The Eden Project, the Maritime Museum at Falmouth, Newquay Zoo and the Camel Trail at Padstow.
