St Ives

St Ives is a bustling seaside town with many different attractions throughout the year. It is surrounded on all sides by beautiful sandy beaches - from the Atlantic facing surf beach to the fishing harbour and the family beach of Porthminster. Old and new live side by side in the town from the quaint old cobbled streets of the historic "Downalong" area to the modern architecture of Tate St Ives.

The gallery houses many paintings of the famous St Ives School and showcases up and coming artists from a community that has existed in St Ives for many decades. Very few seaside towns in Britain can boast such an eclectic mix of culture, beach life, outdoor activity and tranquillity.

Many new restaurants and bars have sprung up around the town catering for all tastes but with an emphasis on seafood and modern cuisine.

For the more active there are the rugged coastal and inland walks; windsurfing and surfing; golfing and horse-riding and many National Trust and subtropical gardens nearby.

Other attractions in the vicinity include The Eden Project, St Michael's Mount, the famous outdoor Minnack Theatre at Porthcurno, Land's End
