Some years ago whilst on holiday in Cornwall we discovered
Porthleven purely by chance. We immediately fell in love with the picturesque
unspoilt harbour, which made us feel that we had stepped back in time.
In early 2007 we were fortunate enough to have the rare opportunity to
purchase 6 Bay View Terrace, which is a Grade II listed 3 Bed Victorian
semi detached house offering fantastic sea and harbour views.
Abraham Delbridge built Bay View Terrace in 1902-1905.
There are a total of eighteen houses in the Terrace, which is considered
to be one of the most sought after locations in Porthleven. We have completely
refurbished the property installing a new kitchen and bathroom, refurnishing,
re-carpeting and re-decorating throughout.
Porthleven really does offer the visitor everything
- a magnificent 2 mile stretch of sandy beach complete with rock pools,
the harbour with its fishing and boats, the fabulous restaurants and cafes,
the craft and art galleries and the traditional Cornish cottages and pubs,
and of course, the coastal path right on your doorstep giving access to
some of the most spectacular scenery Britain has to offer. In Porthleven
you can spend your time browsing the many gift shops in fact you need
not go out of the village for anything.
There is a bakers, a Post Office, a fishmonger who
sells fresh fish straight off the boats, a mini-supermarket with off-licence
and the best takeaway fish & chip shop in Cornwall ‘Roland’s happy Plaice’.
Live music in the pubs and on the harbour side, and events throughout
the summer such as gig racing, lifeboat day and traditional Cornish festivals.
An ideal Touring Base for Cornwall. Two minutes walk
from local fish restaurants and log fired haunted Inns. Three minutes
walk from the 2 mile sandy beach. On the Coastal Path – magnificent walks
Midway between Penzance and The Lizard Boat trips and fishing trips from
Porthleven Harbour Golf, Tennis, Surfing, Kayaking. Walking and Horse
riding.
